ADVANTA is involved in the discovery, development and delivery of elite crop
genetics of various field and vegetable crops. We are looking for an individual to provide an oversight on advanced & innovative technologies for newly establishing high throughput molecular marker laboratory. The position is located at Hyderabad. The successful candidate will work with an expanding group responsible for providing genotyping support for various traits and product development research programs. The person will also be expected to conduct research in an appropriate area of applied genomics related to the overall strategy. This person will also play a crucial role in defining medium and long term strategy for company‘s molecular marker/molecular breeding activities. Key components of the position will the ability to work with multiple trait and product development research groups to ensure effective and efficient utilization of genotyping resources and to interact with internal and external technology development programs to deploy new state of the art genotyping technologies.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, Biochemistry, or related
scientific field, at least 15 years proven track record beyond the PhD, managing production marker laboratories and/or core facilities, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to write scientific grant proposals is must. Working hands on experience in genetics and molecular breeding is required as evident from published research work.
