The reasons attributing to suicide are depression, mental illness, and loss of h

ope, interpersonal relationship problems, mistake and past regrets. Our essay wi
ll focus on the issue that these problems do not require any punishment rather t
hey require healing and treatment. It is self-evident that nothing could be more
imbecile absurd than to endeavor to punish abortive suicidal attempts. It is li
ke telling a prisoner that if he escapes, you will punish him for doing so.
In Many countries like New Zealand, England and Ireland attempt to commit suicid
e is not punishable and in countries like India and china there have been many r
evolts for making it non punishable. Our paper will give a detailed account of t
he laws related to suicide in these countries and the needed modification of the
same. Many cases have been also highlighted to show the judicial inclination to
wards making it non punishable.
Thus we would conclude with the strong conviction that suicide is not a crime it s
a paralysis hence it requires treatment and not punishment.
