Commitment to Success ~ PFS Paper #1 &l 7 This paper is more than just a typical writing assignment, This paper maps out my goals, and my strategies to obtain those goals. This paper will help me plan out the next four years of my college life. SS ps0 O ‘The following are my goals for 2015-2019 = Pa pene 1. Obtain a B.S.B.A. in Management, with a Concentration in Talent Management 2. Fam a minimum GPA of 3.4 by graduation, May 2019 Participate in a minimum of one internship before December 2018 wR gh Study abroad before the summer of 2017 7 2 |. Apply to be a RA in the winter of 2015 6. Graduate with a job offer in May of 2019 Q 1m order to achieve goal number ong, will study at UNC Charlotte in the Belk College of Business for the next seven semesters. I will have a serious and competitive demeanor about, achieving this goal because itis crucial to my future. Goal number two will be achieved by J putting my studies before the rest of college life. Of course I will still take time for myself so as not to stress myself out but the majority of my time will be spent participating in my I @ | academic life. To achieve goal number three I will create a competitive resumé and apply for the Bank of America internship that is offered to juniors and seniors at UNC Siem. For goal number four I will attend the study abroad interest sessions and Kuffcdlso continue my / education in Spanish so that when I visit Argentina for my study abroad I wilt dow the language sf/1 whthave to obtain scholarships as well so as to pay for the costs associated with studying abroad, For goal number five will use my resources inthe Student Center for Professional Development to create a competitive resumé so i will be chosen to bea Resident Assistant during my time at UNC Charlotte. All of my goals numbered one through five will help me achieve goal number six. D> 10% It is necessary to have multiple strategies to achieve a goal in case one strategy doesn’t work. That is why it is necessary to be able to make changes in light of college experiences. For example, if I am unable to sign up for all of the classes that I want in the upcoming / y semester, I have altemate courses already picked out to still satisfy all of the requirements for a timely graduation, Having backup plans and alternatives is very important to college life but also to a career in business. If I cannot obtain goal number two I will be disappointed in myself but I will not be discouraged from making myself more marketable. I would take more classes outside of college to further develop my professional skills and make myself a more desirable hire. For goal ‘umber three if | am unable to get this particular internship I will apply for my third summer VA internship at Oak Island Accommodations. I will easily be able to obtain this internship in a typical office setting since I would be returning there for a third summer. For goal number four ey my backup plan would be to continue being a Resident Assistant instead of going to another country. If! am unable to be a Resident Assistant, goal number five, I will run for Hall Council ‘of whatever dorm I may be living in. o | ff — planned how 1 would like my life to go. I understand that For the next four years I not everything on my list of goals will be obtairied on the first try or may need a backup plan but am willing to make the necessary compromises.
