Bahrain Bayan Schoo! is bilingual school for Bahraini students from pre-school to. grade twelve. There are 1,087 students enrolled, of which $15 are in the secondary division. Students are required to take four years of Arabic and English so they can graduate with equal literacy in both languages. Most students at Bayan School have attended the school since they were in pre-school, making ‘the Bayan Community an especially close one. Students who attend Bayan School are generally from the wealthy and privileged families in Bahrain. About 20% ofthe students are 8 Diploma Candidates, with ‘the rest ofthe students taking college preparation classes and IB Certificate classes. (Ms Syjutisin her second year of teaching middle school mathematics at Bahrain Bayan School to students In grades 6, 7, and 8. In her first year at Bayan School, Ms Syjut was @ brand new teacher. She faced enormous obstacles with a small classroom, large classes, limited resources, and sporadic technology. | am proud to say that she has overcome these obstacles and grown tremendously as a professional teacher. This year (her second year of teaching) she is well-organized with hr lesson plans and classroom ‘management skils. With the improvement in technology and new mathematic resources aligned to the curriculum, she has integrated technology strategies into the instruction, and developed cooperative learning activites and project-based assessments. Her students are learning strong academic and behavior skis! Ms Syjut Is committed to academic success for her students, She communicates with parents regularly, {and is well respected by students, parents, and colleagues.
