Reaction Paper
In every seminars and exhibits that I attended, some of it doesnt really work to give their knowledge to the
audience becuase they didnt know how to interact with the listeners. First of all, before I go to the National
Science and Technology, I dont know what will I do with that seminar, is it boring or will I enjoy what I will
see in that seminar and exhibit. DOST did not failed to feed my brain to learn many things that I really didnt
know. Because of that, I want to apply what I learned on the seminars and exhibit in the near future.
These are the exhibits that I attended. First, I didnt know what abacca can do to the society. The speaker
introduced to us that abacca can do many things like, we can use it as a paper to produce our paper money
because abaccacan not be easily teared up. Abacca can also be used to make a furniture like narra. There are
several steps to make abacca harder to break like narra. Second, the comparison of Nipa hut and a building
when there's an earthquake. Based on their research, buildings can be affected more during an earthquake than
the Nipa hut. They had a miniature of a building and Nipa hut in a shaking surface to make an artificial
earthquake. The building is waving while the Nipa hut stays in its location while shaking the surface. Third, the
IC (Integrated Circuit). In the exhibit, they told us what was IC. They told us that in every IC it has a million of
transistors and inside of transistor has thousands of diodes. Last is the University stall. Every stall has different
devices that helps the society. Race cars, water filter, medicine boxes, pingpong machine trainer, making a
guitar, circuit design in pcb using a printer and many more. In every stall, they explained what and how their
device work and I am motivated to make a device that helps our society.
It is good that DOST conducted a seminars and exhibits that helps not only the students but also the people
who wants a background of what they want to do for their machines or devices. I apprieciate the seminars and
exhibits. I really had fun while walking and talking to the speaker for every gadgets/devices that they introduce
to us.
