I want to study the criminal cases, solved and unsolved, that happened in the last fifty
years in the National Capital Region. I have always been a fan of detective stories, may it be a
movie, novel or a television series. I would have pursued it for college education and profession
have I possessed the physical ability to do so. It is a field I really find interesting ever since and
in fact, I have about a hundred novels featuring criminal cases across the United States of
America.
For this particular study, I will use the historical and archival method of social sciences. I
will use the archival method for collecting the data from the files of the local police and the
National Bureau of Investigation so that I will have all the necessary information that will be
essential in conducting my qualitative research. As for the historical study, I will use it upon
studying the cases to establish my own understanding of the circumstances involved in the cases
that led them to an outcome different from the other cases. I will also use it to predict a
comprehensive profile of probable assailants so that people can look out for them and help will
be administered to them immediately. Aside from that, I will also use it to come up with the
possible scenarios where a criminal case might occur based on the consistencies I will find on the
cases I will study. I really want to do this if I had been given the opportunity so that people will
not be caught unaware and the criminal rate will go down. I will ask for the aid of the experts for
the study to be successful. This study will not only be because of curiosity but rather based on a
yearning for understanding these events and how to avoid it in the future. Lastly, it is based on
my faith for humanity that bad people can still be good if given the chance to change their lives.
