RE: Vacancy Announcement: Program Manager, REQ ID 61062BR, TSG, Fort Polk, LA
I am writing to introduce myself and present my resume and application. I found the listing on your
website and geographically and vocationally it fits where I would like to reside and what I would like to
do. As a vocation, I have worked with Army logistics and private engineering firms for over 20 years.
However, I have recently worked as the Supply Management Officer (SMO) for the USPFO for the State
of Idaho for over a year as a GS 13. I am currently working as a Lieutenant Colonel (USAR) on active
duty at Fort Bliss, TX.
My skills include effective team building for difficult projects to ensure their success. My experience
with the Army as well as private engineering firms has allowed me to take on large and difficult tasks,
e.g., moving 4,300 Soldiers and all their equipment to Iraq and back and developing three
International Standards Organization (ISO) quality assurance programs. Both of the projects involved
understanding the strengths of my team and organizing them to achieve the goal. I believe these are
the skills your organization is looking for to grow individually and collectively.
I appreciate your taking the time to review my resume and look forward to meeting you for an
interview soon. I intend to check on my application progress via e-mail soon.
Respectfully yours,

John W. Clements
