In this blog I will be showing you how a shoe can be designed on auto CAD.

In the image below we can see the way the process all starts. The initial sketch would look
something like this.

The next step would be to draw a line art in Adobe Illustrator to be later transferred onto CAD
department for modelling.

Once the shoe is transferred to CAD the shoe starts with a digital 3D foot shape. The last is offset
to include correct material thicknesses and nets, and turned into a reference part.

By using the Shape and Deform features, as well as Offset Clay and Wire Cut Clay features, all
details are added. The shoe starts to take
shape

Parts are all kept as separate pieces and used as a model tree. This allows greater detailing; notice
the roses, Wade logo, and laces.
The shoe is then coloured and rendered for pre-rapid prototyping buy off.
