CUT TO:
EXT: SOUTHERN TERRITORY DAY
The camera goes to ground level and shows the feet of
Sanders and Rivers go past the camera while talking.
SANDERS
Hey. Check out these new dance moves!
Sanders does a moon walk past the camera with Rivers
behind him.
RIVERS
Thats not new. Ive seen it literally
hundreds of times.
The camera goes to a new area and this time shows the
waist level of Sanders and Rivers. A laser goes past
the camera and goes into the distance.
RIVERS
What in the world are you shooting at?
SANDERS
I thought I saw something...you dont
have to yell.
They walk past the camera. The camera shows another
area, this time revealing their entire bodies. They are
wearing post-apocalyptic clothes and carrying
futuristic rifles. The camera is far back to allow
space for them to walk. They walk forward while talking
to each other. The title of the movie Z Squad appears
on the screen and disappears as they walk off.

RIVERS
I still wonder how you got on Z Squad.
Its mind-blowing.
SANDERS
Because Im awesome! Duh!

RIVERS
That doesnt explain anything.
They walk off screen. The camera goes to them walking
and talking to each other.
SANDERS
Rivers! Where are we?
RIVERS
Uh, I dont have map. You are the only
with a map.
Sanders thinks for a second. He looks at his arm which
has a metal plate on it with buttons/holograms on it.
SANDERS
Oh yeah! Good thinking Rivers.
Rivers sighs and walks up next to Sanders. One of the
buttons flashes every couple of seconds, indicating a
call coming in.
SANDERS
Theres transmission coming in, most
likely its the Commander.
Sanders clicks the flashing button and a holographic
screen pops up in the air. It shows a voice monitor
that tells them when the person sending the
transmission is talking.
SANDERS
Yo Commander, whats up?
The Commander starts yelling at them.
COMMANDER
SANDERS! RIVERS! WHY HAVE YOU NOT
RESPONDED TO MY TRANSMISSIONS! I HAVE
BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU FOREVER!
SANDERS
Sorry Commander, just enjoying life with
Rivers.

COMMANDER
I dont pay you guys to enjoy life. I
pay you to complete missions. Speaking
of which, listen up. Our scanners have
picked up signs of a natural water
source coming from this territory. Z
Squad is in desperate need of water. I
dont know if we will have enough to
make it to next planet without risk of
dehydration. Go investigate the
territory and look for a source of
water. I already sent a scout ahead to
scan the terrain. He will meet back with
you and update your map. Good Luck.
The transmission ends the screen disappears.
RIVERS
Pull up the map Sanders.
Sanders clicks a button and a holographic map pops up
in the air. It shows some of the area (the bottom half)
is charted while the top half is uncharted. They are
located somewhere in the bottom half which is
represented by a blue dot.

RIVERS
Since we are here (he points at the
screen), its safe to assume that the
scout he sent is already inside the
uncharted territory. It would be best to
head towards the border of the uncharted
territory so we can the scout more
quickly.
SANDERS
Rivers, you know the synonym for
uncharted is fun right? Come on, lets
go have some fun! Maybe we will even run
into some natives!
Sanders removes the holographic map and starts walking
forward. Rivers stares at him as he walks away.

RIVERS
Those two words arent even closely
related! (There is a pause but Sanders
keeps walking) This is a bad idea!
Sanders stops. He looks to his right side thinks. He
starts to breath and acts like he is about to say
something. He pauses for another second, then talks.
SANDERS
Im still going anyway!
He keeps walking forward. Sanders starts walking
forward and sighs as he walks off the camera.
CUT TO:
EXT: CENTER TERRITORY EVENING
Camera goes to Sanders crawling on the ground. He
drags his body across the ground, complaining
about water.
SANDERS
RIVERS! I NEED WATER! (He says this like
he is dying and dry)
Rivers looks at him as he is crawling on the ground.
RIVERS
What happened to all that fun you were
talking about? We havent even made it
to the uncharted territory.
SANDERS
Light, fading! World, going dark! This
is it! Goodbye Rivers!
He says that dramatically, then pretends to die midcrawl. Rivers looks at him and sighs. He looks through
his backpack and takes out his flask with water in it.
He hands it to Sanders.
RIVERS
Here, take it.

5.
Sanders gets super energetic and jumps up off the
ground. He quickly grabs it from Rivers and opens it
up.
SANDERS
Thank God!
Sanders quickly downs the flask of water. Once he
finishes, he hands the flask back to Rivers. He puts it
back in his backpack.
RIVERS
What happened to your water anyway?
SANDERS
I drank it all at that party last night.
RIVERS
We didnt have a party last night
SANDERS
(He pauses for a second) RightAnyway,
we should probably build a fire, its
going to get dark soon.
RIVERS
Thats the first good idea you had all
day!
Sanders and Rivers set their stuff down on the ground.
SANDERS
So, you can collect the wood. Ill look
for something to start the fire with.
Cool?
RIVERS
Sounds good.
They both go separate directions and walk off camera.
CUT TO:
EXT: CENTER TERRITORY SUNSET

6.
Rivers walks on screen holding a pile of wood while
breathing heavily. He drops the pile on the ground and
leans over to catch his breath. He looks at Sanders who
is just sitting on the ground staring at his fire
starter. He is not exhausted so Rivers assumes that he
hasnt even moved.
RIVERS
WHAT THE HECK! (He says this as he
catches his breath)
SANDERS
(He looks at him) What?
RIVERS
What is that? Did you even do anything?
SANDERS
This is a fire starter. And yes. It took
a lot of effort to get it out of my
backpack. It wasnt easy digging through
it.
RIVERS
(He pauses) I hate you. (Another pause)
whatever lets just
A loud running sound is heard nearby. They hear the
noise and go quickly for their guns. The activate them
and point them towards the direction of the noise.
SANDERS
Who are you?! Show yourself!
The man runs closer to them. Sanders starts to charge
his gun, ready to fire at any moment. Rivers looks
closer and thinks its one of their team members. He
pushes Sanders gun down so it points away from him.
RIVERS
Wait, I think thats our scout.
He lowers his gun and powers it down. The scout gets
closer to them and they finally recognize each other.
Tucker is also wearing similar clothing and backpack.

7.
The only difference is that he is wearing a hat and has
a pistol instead of a rifle.
TUCKER
Hey Sanders, Rivers, I was about to go
looking for you!
They both start walking towards each other and hug
each other.
RIVERS
Hey Tucker, I didnt expect the
Commander to send you.
SANDERS
And sorry for almost blowing your head
off.
TUCKER
No worries. I was just so tired of being
on maintenance duty, I had to go out and
stretch my legs. Plus, Im the best
technician in the Squad so it made sense
to send me. Speaking of technology, I
need update your map Sanders.
Tucker has a metal plate on his arm similar to that of
Sanders. He pulls out his holographic map and touches
it a couple of times. Tucker removes his holographic
map.
TUCKER
There, all done. Your map should be
updated. I havent been through all the
area yet so it still has some uncharted
territory left to explore.
Sander pulls out his map and sees that it is updated.
He sees that there is only of the map left to
explore.
RIVERS
Thanks. You came just in time. We were
all about to start a fire and rest up
overnight. You are welcome to stay.

8.
SANDERS
Yeah! And we are going to tell scary
stories, make funny shadow puppets and
tickle each other.
RIVERS
We are definitely NOT doing that.
TUCKER
Nah. Im good. Im going to wake up
early tomorrow morning to finish
scouting the area. So Im going to sleep
early to catch some shut-eye before I
go.
While he says that, Tucker throws down his backpack and
his equipment on the ground. He then gets on the ground
and lies on his backpack. He pulls his hat down to
cover his face.
TUCKER
One more thing, if you see a red dot on
your map, that means I found a water
source. So make sure to check tomorrow.
RIVERS
Good to know. Ill be doing to the same.
(He drops his stuff). Sanders, could you
start the fire. That was your job
remember.
As Rivers gets comfortable on the ground, Sanders looks
at Rivers and Tucker.
SANDERS
Well, I guess we arent staying up then
(he waits for a response. No one
responds so he sighs) fine
Sanders takes out his fire starter and sets the wood
ablaze.

EXT: CENTER TERRITORY- MORNING

9.
Sanders is lying on the ground asleep on his backpack.
He feels Rivers kicking him lightly on the side.
RIVERS
Hey Sanders, wake up and check your map.
Tucker left.
Sanders wakes up and stretches his arms out and slowly
stands.
SANDERS
You could have five more minutes or
something. (He yawns)
RIVERS
You were the one wanting to stay up all
night, why are you complaining. Anyway,
the map.
Sanders pulls up the holographic map from his metal
plate. The map comes up and shows a red dot above them
on the border of uncharted territory.
SANDERS
Wait. Did Tucker actually find water! No
way!
RIVERS
(He turns to Sanders) What are we
waiting for, lets go!
They pick up their stuff and take off towards the red
dot.
CUT TO:
EXT: NORTHERN TERRITORY DAY
Sanders and Rivers have almost reached the red dot
location.
RIVERS
Almost there Sanders, I can taste the
water from here.
Sanders puts his hand out to stop Rivers from walking.

10.
SANDERS
WaitDid you hear that?
RIVERS
I dont hear anything except you
talking.
Sanders powers-up his gun. He looks carefully ahead of
him, waiting and listening for something unusual.
Rustling is heard ahead of them. Rivers hears this and
also powers-up his gun. Then, a native comes out in
front of them holding a knife to Tuckers throat.
Tuckers hands are tied with rope.
NATIVE
As I predicted, there was more than one
of you foreigners. I dont what you want
with my water but Im not going to let
you just have it.
TUCKER
Sorry guys. I let him get behind me and
he knocked me out.
NATIVE
Quite! (He moves the knife closer to
Tucker). Now! You foreigners have two
choices. Either you can shoot me and
risk hitting your friend. Or, you can
lay down your weapons. Think carefully,
you dont want to make the wrong choice.
RIVERS
Sanders. I can shoot him from here
without hitting Tucker.
SANDERS
No. We cant risk it. Lets lay down our
weapons.
RIVERS
Sanders. I can do it
SANDERS
River. Trust me.

Rivers thinks about it for a few seconds. He powersdown his gun and Sanders does the same soon after. They
lay down their guns.
NATIVE
Smart choice. Now, move forward away
from your guns.
They both walk away from their guns.
NATIVE
Now. I dont know where you got all this
advanced technology from, or why you
want my water. But, both these things
are a potential threat to me. So, as I
see it the best move for me (He throws
down Tucker and reaches for a pistol in
his back pocket.) is to kill all of you.
The Native pulls out his pistol from his back pocket.
He goes and points it at Sanders. Sanders and Rivers
both take a step back in fear of being shot. Before the
Native pulls the trigger, Tucker sweeps his leg and
causes him to lose balance. A shot fires in the sky as
The Native falls to the ground. Both of them try to get
off the ground. The Native gets off the ground barely
before Tucker does. As soon as Tucker gets to his feet,
The Native decks him in the face with his left fist.
Tucker falls back to the ground. The Native looms over
him.
NATIVE
If you really want to die first, so be
it.
The Native points the gun at Tucker. Then, two lasers
fire from Rivers and Sanders and burn straight through
two points in The Natives body. He is stunned for a
second, then falls to the ground dead. Sanders and
Rivers power-down their guns and high-five each other.
SANDERS
Nice shot Rivers. Now thats teamwork
RIVERS

12.
Same to you Sanders. You know, at first,
I didnt like you at all. I wondered
everyday why you were on this team. But
now, I beginning to realize that maybe
every team needs someone a little crazy.
Its because of you that Tucker is still
alive. So now, Im proud to be on Z
Squad with you. (He turns to his left
and sees that Sanders is missing).
Sanders?
He looks and sees Sanders over on the other side
helping out Tucker. Tucker and Sanders turn and looks
at him.
SANDERS
Hey, quit talking to yourself and come
help your teammate!
RIVERS
(He sighs) Yeah, right
Rivers walks over to them as the camera pans up into
the sky. As this happens, the audience hears Sanders
talking to Commander.
COMMANDER (O.V.)
Sanders, what is your mission status.
SANDERS
We found a water source. We need you to
send a water purification system to
cleanse the water, and maybe some
snacks!
COMMANDER
Roger that. We are sending a convey your
way. Congratulations on completing your
mission Z Squad. Commander out.
