In science, there have been numerous

studies regarding the mechanism of

transport from the cytoplasm to the
nucleus. At the time of the paper,
there was not much known about the
macromolecular export from the
nucleus to the cytoplasm. Not much
known about the proteins that are
involved in RNA export as well. In
1992, an experiment suggests that
common factors were used to export a
various amount of RNAs.
This paper looks at various classes of
RNA and explores if these RNAs are
mediated by a specific or a common
factors during export. For the study,
microinjection was used on Xenopus
oocytes to show that RNAs like tRNA,
U snRNA, and mRNA, was able to
inhibit their own export. The results
show that there is a distinct factor that
mediate the export of tRNA, 5s RNA, U
snRNA, and mRNA.
