Reflection

Mrs. Latoya was the instructor of this lesson Wednesday

November 24th at Cleveland Elementary. She was teaching to 4th and 5th
graders combined. There were 20 students that attended class today
for the dance lesson. The previously learned skills were productive team
building skills, communication, dynamic and static warm-ups. The equipment needed
was 1 Radio Speaker, Music Created by Rich Homie Quan Hit the Quan, 25 colorful
fags, and 25 colorful polly spots. The lesson took place on the blacktop.
The observation that I completed was SOFIT. When looking at Latoyas lesson she did
an outstanding job of keeping the kids active and moving. She kept the students active for
1,050 seconds which is a lot compared to the other times I have done SOFIT for her.
Seeing that the lesson was Dance it made it very easy to constantly have the kids moving.
Latoya did a great job of having the students shadow her and she also did a great job of
giving directions and using herself as a great example. I noticed that some kids excelled
and some were stuck in the mud. I think prior knowledge of the song helped some kids
out. Latoya could of done a better job of assuming all students had zero prior knowledge
of the song. This way the instruction would have been a little slower and would of given
more time to the students who needed it,
