Notes

ANZACS
ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps.
ANZAC Day is on the 25 of April, 1915
ANZAC day is held on this day because it is when the ANZACs landed on the
Gallipoli peninsula.

GALLIPOLI
The Gallipoli peninsula is on the north-west-west-west side of Turkey.
The Gallipoli peninsula was attacked because it was the quickest way to get
inland and to Constantinople (now Istanbul) which they were planning to capture.
It was the ANZACs job of attacking Gallipoli.
The ANZACs landed Gallipoli on the 25 of April, 1915 and the last men retreated
on the 18-19-20 of December, 1915, so that would mean that the ANZACs had
been attacking Gallipoli for about 238 days.

THE NEK
The Nek was a stretch of land that the ANZACs had to pass to get to their desired
area; unfortunately this is where most of the ANZACs got killed. It is also the
place where the lone pine was.
One of the most critical death spots of the ANZACs.
