INTRODUCTION
A tele conference or tele seminar is the live

exchange and mass articulation of information

among several persons and machines remote
from one another but linked by
telecommunication system.
Terms such as audio conferencing, telephone
conferencing and phone conferencing are also
sometimes used to refer to teleconferencing.

The tele communication system may support

the tele conference by providing one or more
of the following audio, video and or data
services by one or more means, such as
telephone, computer, telegraph,
teletypewriter, radio and television

TYPES OF TELE
CONFERENCES

Audio tele conference:

Voice only, sometimes called conference

calling
Distance learning can be conducted by audio
conference
Audio graphics Tele conference:
Uses narrow band Tele communication
channels to transmit visual informations such
as graphics, documents, video etc

Computer tele conference:

Uses tele phone lines to connect two or more

computers modems
Video conference:
Combines audio and video to provide voice
communication and video images

ADVANTAGES
Save time: Travel in reduced resulting in more

productive time.
Lower costs: costs are reduced by keeping
employees in the offices speeding up product
development.
Larger audience: the larger the audience, the
lower the cost per person.
Accessible: larger audience more people can
attented

Adaptable: useful for business, hospitals,

education etc.
Flexible: transmit or receive site can be
located any where
Security: signals can be encrypted when it is
necessary.
Unity: provides a shared sense of identity
Timely: for time critical information, size can
be linked quickly

DISADVANTAGES
The facial expressions or body language of

other people in the meeting.

Some conversation can be misinterpreted
from time to time
