Re: Candidate Erin C. Dobey
Date: October 9, 2015,
tis my very real pleasure to write a personal recommendation for Ms. Erin C, Dobey.
Evins seeking her fist full-time teaching position after completing a very successful
four-year degree program at Drake in Elementary Education with an endorsement in
Reading. | would encourage you to review her application and her electronic portfolio
for the “essence of Erin” that i difficult to glean from print or email
Erin has had an extensive set of classroom experiences that distinguish her fram other
students, In additon to the four required field experiences, she has traveled to Ghana
10 extend her cultural understanding and experience actual teaching in an area of abject
poverty. Whether home or abroad, Erin approaches every new situation with ski,
enthusiasm and compassion,
-My most extensive involvement with Erin Dabey was during her two years of service on
‘the School of Education Student Advisory Board. Nominated by her professors, rin met
‘with me and a group of student representatives to review issues and make
recommendations for the improvement of our school. Erin was also elected to Drake's
‘Student Senate as the representative ofthe SOE. in that capacity, she chaired several
sub-committees related to the health, welfare and safety of Drake students.
Erin Dobey has maturity beyond her years. She is highly organized and has a way of
approaching superiors with information, patience and appropriate recommendations
for change. it willnot be difficult to assign Erin to curriculum committees, sponsorship
of student organizations or extra-curricular activities. !have been a university
administrator for over 35 years and during that time, | have worked with several
thousand students. Without reservation, | would place Erin inthe top 5% of those |
hhave had the pleasure to serve and support
Best regards with
