Reflection
This semester was a challenging semester for me since it was my first semester in
college. I feel that this UWRT 1103 class challenged me because there were many projects I had
to get done but I also had six other classes to juggle. I feel that these projects that we did during
the semester didnt help me learn anything and that it was just a waste of time to do them. My
writing abilities may have improved a little bit but I knew how to write well because my senior
year English teacher taught me how to write and criticized everything I wrote so I had to redo it
so I would know how to write it the right way. I also knew all about my family history so doing
the family tree project was a waste of time to me because I already knew about my family and
there wasnt much to look up since most of it was in a family tree book my grandmother made
me. I feel that I havent really grown as a writer during this semester.
During this semester, I feel like I struggled with making sure that the projects were
completed on time and that they achieved all the requirements that were needed for this
successfully completion of the projects. I successfully completed all the projects but I feel that I
had a hard time keeping up with all the writing prompts and projects along with my other classes
that required a ton of reports and projects due at the same time. I feel that this class will not help
me in the future because everything had to be in MLA format and all my reports for engineering
need to be in Chicago Manual of Style Format. So, everything that I have done in this class in

MLA format is opposite of what is required in Chicago Manual of Style Format. I also feel that I
will become a better writer in the future because I will be writing a lot of reports for engineering
in college and in my career.
In my opinion, I feel that this class was just a filler class for me and that it was just a
requirement that I had to complete in order to graduate college at UNC Charlotte and move on
from the freshman requirements for the College of Engineering.
