Discussion 1.1
I believe that adults need to be a part of a symbiotic leadership.
Leadership is at its best when leader and led feel inspired and energized to
do great things together, to scale new heights of collective accomplishment,
and to share roles of responsibility that reflect much more positively on the
group as a whole than on any one individual. (Preskill, Stephen &
Brookfield, Stephen D , page 7). Because if we are feeling inspired not only
to energize to do great things; but also, to take on new and important roles in
our life than I believe that as a society we will come to believe that we are
gender equal.
In the article, Theatre of the Oppressed connects students and
teachers everyday lives to the Civil Rights Movement by Katie Kissinger,
Felicia is an athlete and has been a strong advocate for more gender equity
in the sports programs at her school. She refers to herself as a loud mouth
and in this group, she uses her humor often to relieve her tension or ligten
the mood. (Kissinger, Katie, page 1).
If we do not have equal time with the opposite gender, then they are
more likely to feel upset, angry, hurt, frustrated, etc. If a particular person or

gender has their feelings hurt, then they are more likely to speak up in order
to have their opinions and needs to be heard.
