Reflection
This activity has taught me that the offertory part of the mass is important for the church. At first
I thought that all the donations in money and kind is given to the poor but through our lessons in
class that was not the case. Indeed, donations are given to the poor but not everything. I
learned that some of the donations go to the church itself to help support the priests in the
parish. This never crossed my mind because I was taught in elementary that the church is for
the poor, and so naturally, I thought that all of the donations were given to the poor. It made me
realize that the priests in the parish need help as much as we do. Lessons in our class said that
they are the foundations of the church. Without them, there would be no church. There would be
no one to guide the people.
