I am writing to call for the immediate release of pro-democracy

activists Min Ko Naing, Min Zeya, Kyaw Min Yu, Nilar Thein, Mie
Mei, Mya Aye, Zaw Thet Ko Ko, Htay Kywe and those arrested for
exercising their right to freedom of expression and assembly
during the demonstrations of 2007.

Pending their release, please ensure that all prisoners are treated
well and provided with access to medical treatment, their families
and legal representatives.

Please ensure that they will not be tortured or ill-treated while they
remain in custody.
