Ultimately, I would love to develop a career in television

broadcasting. Eventually, through experience and

knowledge gained, I hope to achieve my career goal in
sports broadcasting! I have a large passion for
communication with others. In addition to
communication, I am very enthusiastic about sports and
fitness.

The necessary steps and requirements are being met in

order to achieve my goals
being that I anticipate
graduation in the summer of
2016 with my Bachelor of Arts
in Communication. I also have
a minor in psychology to help
with the communication
process with other people. This additional sector of
education is yet another marketable quality to
accompany my interpersonal skills.

Graduate school, as well as further certifications and

licensing is not necessary in this field; however, the more
education you have will only expand your knowledge. I
do plan on eventually going to graduate school for a
masters degree in school psychology. Graduate school
will be something to consider once my career in

broadcasting has been established. As I have previously

mentioned, my minor is in
psychology which demonstrates my
passion for the subject. Working with
children is an excellent way for me
to fulfill my passion for both
effective, efficient communication
and psychology.

Though internship opportunities are helpful to gain

experience in before jumping right in the field of
broadcasting, the amount of television stations in my
region are very limited. Being that I have volunteered a
lot of time into my community by tutoring students in
local schools, and by working local races and events such
as the River Roar, I have not been involved in any
internships or student organizations through SVSU.
However, until graduation, I will continue to gain
exposure to a variety of people within my community
through volunteering.
