Over the last few weeks, many of our Year 6 students have been busily learning poems in readiness
for the first
round of the Emirates LitFest poetry competition, the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Qasidah Par Coeur Competition. Students were invited to recite any published poem paying particular attention to the story they were conveying, their voice and articulation and the performance element of the poem. After 24 wonderful poetry recitals, the JPS judges had a very tricky task to choose just three students to qualify for the next round. The results are: Top 3: ( in no particular order) Sneha Janardhan, Ruby Sheehan, Saahil Ramjoo. These 3 children will be attending the next round at the Cultural Centre in January. A special mention also goes to: Sanaa, Sabie, Dalia, Atishya and Daniyal for a tremendous effort. Of course well done to each and every one of our students, you all did an amazing job.
