Missing College Student
A college senior has been reported missing after a night out with friends at a bar in
Philadelphia (FIL-uh-dehl-fee-uh) last week. Authorities say that Shane Montgomery
(MONT-gum-ur-ee)a 21-year-old college senior at West Chester Universitymet up
with friends the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving at a crowded bar in the Manayunk
(MAN-uh-yunk) neighborhood of Philadelphia (FIL-uh-dehl-fee-uh). The Philadelphia
(FIL-uh-dehl-fee-uh) Police say he became separated from them and was escorted from a
bar by a bouncer at around two a.m. Thursday and has not been seen since. The F-B-I has
joined the search in hopes of locating the missing student. Normal Police Chief Rick
Bleichner (BUH-lyk-ner) explains the FBIs involvement and sheds some light on the
importance of nighttime safety.

Montgomerys motherKarenis offering a 50 thousand dollar reward for help finding
him. Montgomery is a liberal arts major and former high school runner. On the night he
was reported missing he was wearing a buttoned-down gray shirtgray hoodieand
jeans. He is five-foot-eleven and 130 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes.
Anyone with any information should contact Philadelphia Police or the F-B-I
immediately.

People go missing everyday but when a missing persons case has suspicious
circumstances the federal organizations task force involvement is necessary. This is a
prime example of why it is so important to follow safety regulations and to always be
aware of your surroundings when out at nighttime no matter where you are.
