Opinion:

According to my point of view yes, Southwest should continue their point to

point strategy because of well-organized infrastructure, penetrating to
profitable routes, cut rate ticket prices and devoted employees.
Problem:
Southwest facing problem of rules and regulation implemented by the US
government after 9/11 attack.
Defense:
Southwest airline has well-organized infrastructure which gives them an
edge to tackle with such situation. They have well-trained crew and manage
situation to offer point to point service. Hiring more employees will also give
them an edge for quick processing. They can easily continue their point to
point system with their current infrastructure, which is a plus point for
Southwest.
Southwest proves their services on profitable routes by which they are
generating high profits while other airlines are in decline. Southwest is in
search of new profitable routes to widen their service areas. They got
positive feedback from customers on new routes. Providing service for new
routes half of customers are traveling for the first time with Southwest. This
is a positive point for Southwest that people preferring their service and they
should continue point to point strategy.
Southwest provides discounts on tickets rates which attract more customers.
Southwest prices and personal transport fairs are almost same so people
preferring Southwest which give them edge over rival airlines. Price is very
important matter in airline industry and Southwest dominating on this point.
Employees of Southwest are loyal to them because of preference and low
employees turnover rate. Employees ready to give more time than their job
description time to enable Southwest to keep up point to point strategy.
