Goal(s):
When given printed material the learner will recognize the letter B.
Objective(s):
Given the printed word bubble, the learner will circle the Bs in the
word with 80% accuracy with hand over hand assistance from an adult.
Student A: Given the printed word bubble, the learner will circle the Bs
in the word with 80% accuracy with verbal prompts given by an adult
staff member.
Given a dotted or written template the learner will trace the letter B
with hand over hand assistance from an adult.
Student A: Given a dotted or written template the learner will trace the
letter B with verbal prompts given by an adult staff member.
TEKS:
110.11.1B-Identify upper- and lower-case letters.
110.11.3A-Identify the common sounds that letters represent.
Materials/Resources/Technology needs:
White board, dry erase marker, bubble papers, paint, water, soap, and
card stock.

Instructional Procedures
Focusing Event:
-Play The B Song by: Have Fun Teaching
-This is the letter Bb (write on board). B is pronounced buh.

-Who has a letter B in their name?


Teaching/ Learning Procedures:
-Another word that starts with a B is bubbles.
-Bubbles has 3 Bs (blow bubbles). Ask students to circle the Bs in the
word bubbles.
- We are going to do an activity with b-u-b-b-l-e-s bubbles.
-Children will pick a paint color and piece of paper for the bubble
activity.
-Teacher and paraprofessionals will assist children with their bubble art.
Formative Check (ongoing or specific):
I will formatively assess these children through observation.
Reteach (alternative used as needed):
If students need extra practice, I will give them a B dabbing template
in order to further expose them to the letter.
Closure:
I will call on each child to trace the letter B on the white board.
Assessment/Summative Evaluation:
Students will be assessed through an end of unit pencil paper
assessment.
