Ceconspiracy Theories”) a | This source is definitely a good general source for my semester-long-multi-modal project. This source has a brief summary of a few of the most popular conspiracy theories and is very ‘g00d as a launching point to find more in depth information about the conspiracies listed. As it is “ assumed that conspiracy theories may or may not be true, it is typically very difficult to find “reliable” sources. This website is good for educating yourself on the basics of the conspiracy theories themselves, but they do not go into great detail about the theories and will most certainly require further research to actually implement it into the semester long project. Jacobsen, Annie. "The Road to Area 51." Los Angeles Times. Los Angeles Times. Web. 9 Nov. 2015. - | CD beat (“The Road to Area 51”) This source, The Road to Area 51, goes into deep detail of the myth of the U.S. Government's Area 51. Area 51 was actually a conspiracy theory not too long ago, but more recently the US has actually acknowledged that it docs, in fact, exist, but they have not stated that they keep any secret alien technology in their vaults on the base. This source provides the Smith 2 firsthand accounts of three men who were actually stationed at Area 51. This article is very helpful in obtaining further information about the mystery surrounding Area 51. This article provides solid information about Area 51 and is very reliable in comparison to some of the less reputable sources that most conspiracy theories are found in, which makes this source quite useful in the semester long multimodal project. "The 11 Most Compelling 9/11 Conspiracy Theories." News One RSS. 11 Sept. 2012. Web. 11 Nov. 2015. (“9/11 Conspiracy Theories”) This website showcases some of the most believable conspiracy theories surrounding the tragic incident of 9/11. The information is presented in the form of 11 videos, each going into varying degrees of detail about the aspect of 9/11 that their theories are questioning. After watching all of the videos, I have to say that they do bring up very important questions that can’t rationally be answered unless the government was somehow involved, These videos may not entirely convince you that something was fishy about 9/11, but it will certainly stop and make you think about it, This article is helpful in completing the semester long multimodal project because it presents some solid arguments that we can use in presenting the project to the class. Mole, Phil. "9/11 Conspiracy Theories: The 9/11 Truth Movement in Perspective.” Skeptic 2006. Print, (“The 9/11 Truth”) This is a magazine article about some more of the 9/11 conspiracies out there and about the community that adamantly believes that the government was in some way involved with 9/11. Most of the information that is present in other sources that have already been listed, but Smith 3 this is the only one that talks about the people that believe in the actual conspiracy theories themselves. Knowing the way the conspiracy community thinks and functions is a key part of our project, and this source will most definitely contribute to the semester long project "10 Reasons the Moon Landings Could Be a Hoax - Listverse." Listverse. 28 Dec. 2012. Web. 11 Nov, 2015. (“Moon Landings Could Be a Hoax”) This source gives 10 reasons that the moon landing could have been faked for political reasons, pointing out all of the inconsistencies with the camera footage from the moon landing. The reliability of this website may be a bit questionable, but such is to be expected when you are doing research into conspiracy theories. Also, our semester long project won't necessarily be trying to convince people that these conspiracies are true, but simply informing people of the arguments that are out there and how they have affected the rest of the country. This source will probably be used in the semester long project because it does provide quality images and backs up its claims with convincing arguments. Launius, Roger. "Denying the Apollo Moon Landings: Conspiracy and Questioning in Modem American History.” 48th AIA Aerospace Sciences Meeting Including the New Horizons Forum and Aerospace (“Denying the Apollo Moon Landings”) This source provides a reputable history of the conspiracies conceming the moon landing. ‘The author takes a very doubting approach to the theories, and it is clear that he does not believe in them, Nonetheless, he does discuss some of the theories in great detail providing key points that I have been unable to find elsewhere. He has also illustrated the progress of the theories Smith 4 throughout history and has even written a section that concerns the theories in the modern ages of the internet, This source will definitely be used in the semester long project because the content very closely aligns with our goals and provides a great source of overall content and information. This book talks about the murder of Martin Luther King Jr, and how it might not have been a murder, but perhaps a government sanctioned g 3 Smith 5 assassination. This also goes into some degree of detail about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and brings up a few interesting points on that front. It also contains a section about JFK, assassination, but it will likely not be used for information regarding that due to the sources that we already have to provide information about that topic. This book might be used in the semester Jong project, but more than likely not to an extreme degree. "I Was In The Illuminati I’m Going To Tell You Everything, Shocking..." Your News Wire. 27 Feb, 2015. Web. 11 Nov. 2015. (“I Was In The Illuminati”) When it comes to researching conspiracy theories, the term “reliable source” becomes a bit of a gray area due to the fact that it is understood that most conspiracy theories may or may not be true, it’s typically just speculation. That being said, the Illuminati is something that is referenced quite often in the world of conspiracies, and so it becomes necessary to have some background information and do some research on the supposed group itself. This website article is a “first-hand account” of the Illuminati and contains what are widely believed to be the standards and the story of the Illuminati and its involvement with important global affairs. The Iluminati is essentially a group of extremely powerful people thet control the world and its affairs from the shadows. Illuminati members are rumored to be well connected and funded and are said to be able to tip the balance of the world with ease. This source will definitely be used in our semester long project because really, what kind of conspiracy presentation doesn’t at least mention the Illuminati. “Inside the Great Reptilian Conspiracy: From Queen Elizabeth to Barack Obama -- They Live!" Alternet. 1 Sept. 2010. Web. 11 Nov. 2015. ‘smith 6 ("Inside the Great Reptilian Conspiracy”) Even for conspiracy theories, this one is way off the charts. This concems the theory that all of the most powerful people in the world are actually giant 8ft tall humanoid reptilians that are capable of disguising themselves as humans. I believe that most people can’t help but laugh when they hear about this theory, but it would be ignorant if we did not recognize at least one of the outlandish theories that do make up a fair percentage of the conspiracy world. I believe that this source will provide us with everything that we will need to know about this particular conspiracy and will be included in the information on our semester long project.
