Installation/drill and stick

This application is for tactile warning and guiding strips with pin / with glue RE 500
AISI-LINE/ TPU-LINE products
Individual tactile guiding strips and tactile warning studs have a pin on their bottom side. For
their proper installation, openings need to be drilled in the floor, using a template. Pin on the
stud and strip are planted into the drilled opening filled with glue.
Installation drill and stick is possible in small and big areas. Tactile warning studs can be
placed in diagonal or radial layout.
Tactile guiding strips are usually placed to the width from 4 to 7 lines, with parallel gaps of
30 to 45 mm and longitudinal gaps from 10 to 20 mm.
Individual tactile warning studs, guiding strips are placed with a template with spacing
according to standards of country where the installation is done.
For drilling we recommend to use diamond drill with water cooling.
Installation steps:
1. Measure and pinpoint the area of the installation

2. Measured points are marked with semi-permanent color on the string

3. Place the drilling template on the marked space for accurate drilling.

4. After placing, drill the openings in four corners of the template and place pins to
anchor the template in position.

5. After template anchoring, drill openings in the floor as marked on the template
with a vertical drill. Use a vacuum cleaner with water capability to remove the
excess water.

6. After drilling, clean the openings with air.

7. Place template for sticking the elements

8. Fill openings with glue, Hilti RE500 is recommended. Place stud/strip pin into
the openings respecting the template marking. Pin sticked with RE500 can
withhold 500 kg of tensile strength.

9. Remove template after the installation of all elements and glue is cured.

10. Check the elements 2-3 hours after sticking, whether they hold in position,
remove the barriers. Full duty is recommended after 24 hours.

For its long lasting effect is this type of installation highly recommended for all type of
floor surface in the interiors and exteriors.
Drilling openings to the bitumen is possible with classic hammer drill.
