G.A.1- Geometry
Draw and identify lines and angles, and classify shapes by properties of their
lines and angles.

The instructor will introduce the basic line of geometry dealing with lines and angles, and
classifying these lines and angles. The students will then start their morning work as class first
starts. The students will use the web tool Pirate Pad to complete their morning work. Their
morning work assignment will be to create a bubble map of a list of things that they already
know about geometry. After the students complete their morning work, the instructor will go
over some things about geometry and choose students to explain some things that they already
know.
The instructor will teach the students how to draw the acute, obtuse, and right angles and also
how to identify each of the following with the acute angle being less than 90 degrees, the obtuse
angle being more than 90 degrees, and the last would be the right angle and it is exactly 90
degrees. The instructor will also teach the students the different parts of the line including, a
point, line, line segment, and a ray. She will define each of them, as a point is just a position on a
plane and you name them. A line is a set of points in a straight path that continues to extend. A
line segment is finite portion of a line that has two end points. A ray is a portion of a line that
extends from one endpoint and continues to extend.
The instructor will then pass out worksheets of examples that the students need to work out
about lines and angles. Each student will get their own copy, and are supposed to work
individually on this worksheet. After, the students complete the worksheet the instructor will go
over the worksheet as a class, and ask the students to come up to the board and write their
answer on the board.
