Parking and Transportation Services sets students straight about Twitter rumors.

UNCC is a very large commuter school, and because of that many decks have to be built
and worked on throughout the year. In this article, that was written in June of 2012, a full times
parking pass cost $415.00. We are now in 2015 and the amount of the parking pass has not gone
down, but has raised up in price year to year. Many UNCC students have shown their frustrations
toward the amount PaTS (UNCC parking services) have charged for a parking pass. Because of
the outrage current UNCC charlotte students show towards the amount paid of parking services,
PaTS in 2012 revealed its amount grossed from parking passes and the amount it cost to maintain
and build new decks.
Although PaTS has a valid reason why to set the parking prices at a high price, they have
failed to set any alternative solution. Who is to know that parking passes wont raise every year,
what will the breaking point be to students? How much more can they afford to pay just for a
parking pass? This article helps my reasoning in why there needs to be a solution for the amount
set for parking prices at UNCC. Many students cant afford to pay out front $400 plus every year,
but if a different system was in place then maybe students wouldnt complain about parking
prices.
