Lysergic Online

Lysergic acid can be synthesized in biosynthetic route depending on the

alkylation of tryptophan amino acid with the dimethylallyl diphosphate (an
isoprene obtained from the 3R-mevalonic acid) resulting in 4 dimethylallylL-tryptophan. This 4 dimethylallyl-L-tryptophan is then N-methylated in the
presence
of
Sadenosyl-L-methionine.

This oxidative closure of the ring is then followed by subsequent processes of

oxidation, cyclization, reduction, decarboxylation and finally lands in allylic
isomerization yielding D (+) lysergic acid. The lysergic acid belongs to
the category of chiral compounds carrying two stereocenters. Isolysergic acid

is the name of the isomer that possesses an inverted configuration in the

position of 8th carbon atom that lies next to carboxy group.

Interestingly, the inversion process that was carried out at the 5 th carbon of
the nitrogen atom results in the L-isolysergic acid and L-lysergic acid. This
lysergic acid got its position under Table 1 precursor of the United Nations
Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic
Substances. If one is looking to buy lysergic acid, they can visit lysergi.com.
