Unit Paper
In this unit we learned a lot about structures and systems. Through the readings of Walker we
learned about big ideas and making lesson plans. We learned about all the structures that went
into making lesson plans for students. We also looked at the standards for elementary school
children that teachers have to follow. We had some pretty interesting studios this unit as well. We
had to follow directions of making lines and different artistic things and it was cool seeing how
many people came up with different drawlings. We also made a really cool art piece were we all
brought in different art pieces and then put them all together. We then had music and lighting
added to the piece which made it really cool. We added yarn to connect pieces together to show
structures and systems.
This unit was really fun and I think it would be fun to add in the classroom. I think it might be
a little difficult for children to have all these tasks but it might be good for the students to have
roles. It was also good to learn about the standards that we will have to follow as teachers. I also
liked learning about the systems you had in your art class so we can learn about how to do things
in our classroom. I feel like this unit was very useful for the real world as us being teachers.
