Toomanytimeschildrenandadultsareshamedfortheirbodytypeandbullied.Kidseverydaycomehome
andcomeupwithexcusestonothavetogotoschoolthenextdayandthenext.Kidsandadultsarebullied
everydaybecauseoftheirbody,howtheytalk,wheretheylive,orjustbecausetheyaredifferent.Both
groupsofpeoplecanbeharshtooneanotherandnotrealizethattheiractionscanbemoreharmfulthan
justthewordstheyspeak.

Itisestimatedthat160,000missschooleverydayduetofearofattackorintimidationbyother
students.60%of4th through8th gradersreport beingvictimsofbullying.(National Education
Association)

Project Focus
This project will focus on raising awareness of these issues, campaigning, and fundraising for suicide
prevention towards the organization Stand for the Silent, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing
the number of lives lost due to bullying and in memorial to their son who they lost due to suicide. My goal
is to bring awareness and influence people to be more cautious about how they speak to one another,
realizing their words can result in loss of life. Additionally, I will hope to start a support group for those
whom are victims of bullying and or body shamed.
