On Slide:
During World War II, the treatment of prisoners was widely regulated by the
Geneva Convention, which was a document in 1929 formed and signed by
the major western powers. They were required to follow restrictions and treat
prisoners humanely.
Explanation:
This was not always the case, as there were many atrocities that were never
acknowledged by the Geneva convention, and this policy could not possibly
be enforced in every camp.

Bumgarner 2

On Slide: Spies were often caught and taken as prisoners.

Explanation: This is a picture of the U2 spy plane that was shot down. This
was a big deal because it proved that the US was breaking policy by spying
on the Soviet Union during the cold war.

On Slide: During Nazi rule, Jews were taken prisoner and unimaginable things
were done to them.

Bumgarner 3
Explanation: Jews were the most unfortunate of all prisoners, as they were
viewed inferior to the ones that imprisoned them. Most of them were brutally
killed, and only few survived.
