ask yourself as your
students begin their
first draft reading.

will get caught up in stories because they dont


understand.
As Gallagher says, they are experts at surrender (62).
Getting rid of the dichotomy that you either get it or you
dontsome confusion is normal and beneficial.
We can do this by showing
them our own difficulties
with readings.

their own comprehension?
