OneofthereasonsIhavegrowntofeelthiswayisbecauseIhavespentthelastyearofmylife
workingataStarbucks.Ihavehadthepleasureofmeetingnewfriendsthere,beingapartofthe
amazingatmosphere,andofcourse,drinkingthecoffee.Starbucksmeetstheassignment
requirementsbecauseonanygivendayyoucanwalkinandfindmanydifferenttypesofpeople,
notonlyvisitingforacupofcoffeebutalsointeracting.Starbuckssetstheiratmosphereupina
specificwaytoencouragepeopletositdown,relax,andminglewithothers.Ibelievethatamong
thisatmosphereIcanobservethetruemeaningofhumaninteractionandseehowbarrierscanbe
torndownwithasimplehello.
ThisparticularStarbucksisalsoconvenientformebecauseIdonothaveacaron
campus,thereforeventuringoffcampuscouldbeadifficulttask.Becauseofthecloseproximity,
IplanonvisitingeveryTuesdayandThursdaymorningbeforemy12:30class,whereIwill
enjoyacupofcoffeeandobservetheatmosphereandpeoplesurroundingme.Starbuckshasno
setdressorattiresoIwillbeabletowearanythingthatsuitesmyneedsfortheday.Ialsoam
interestedinthisparticularStarbucksbecauseitislocatedonacollegecampuswherenotonly
studentscravecoffee;theyneeditjusttostayawakeonadailybasis.Iamhopingthiswilllead
tosomeinterestingobservations.

IfbychanceStarbucksdoesnotpanoutorgetapproved,mysecondchoicewouldbeto
talkwithandobserveanemployeeattheCharlotteAnimalHumaneSociety.Thedifficultywith
thisproposalwouldbethatIdonothaveacaroncampusbutIlivewithintwentyminutesof
campussoitwouldbepossibleforsomeonetobringmycartomesoIcouldtraveltotheshelter.
