The Bottled Water Rocket
Have you ever go to school without sleeping for two days? Have you ever
think about the risk of throwing things in class? When I was in grade 10, I went to
school with out sleeping for two days. I didnt know that I would get a headache,
and Im going to act frivolously if anyone tried to disturb me while sleeping.
At the beginning I was excited because always I wanted to go to school
with out sleeping for two days. I thought that its going to be fun especially that
Im going to be with my friends Yusuf, Tariq, and my brother Ahmed (Yusuf and
Tariq are cousins). I also thought that Im not going to feel tired
After the third class I got a headache. I felt that I need to rest, and there are
6 more classes left. After the third class we had a break. I said to my best friend
Yusuf that I am going to sleep during the break time. I tried to sleep in class, but
the teacher didnt allow me because one of the school rules, no body can stay in
class during break time everyone should go to the cafeteria. There were no other
options, so we went to the cafeteria.
The forth class we had physics, fortunately the teacher was in a meeting
and there was no teacher in class. I said to my self its the time to rest. I took my
chair and my table to the corner and I slept. Yusuf and Tariq were throwing water

bottles on each other. Yusuf wears glasses and no body realizes the risk of
throwing bottles. Suddenly, some one throw a bottle on my head I woke up I knew
that it was Yusuf because he was laughing and he is terrible in throwing things. I
took the bottle and throw the bottle strongly on him because I was tired, and I
didnt accept the joke. The only thing I remembered at that time is scattering of
glass.
The bottle broke Yusufs glasses into pieces, and unfortunately the glass
injured Yusufs eyes and his eye started bleeding. I have never seen some ones eye
bleeding as that before. He was standing without doing anything. He didnt even
say a word, and everyone in class was silent. I was shocked. I started feeling the
beats of my heart (I was scared). My brother and I took Yusuf to the school nurse.
The nurse called the school administration immediately, so they can take him to
the hospital. The school director took Yusuf to the hospital, but he didnt allow us
to go with them.
There was a teacher started shouting at me. I dont remember whats her
name and all what she was saying. All what I remember is that I didnt like the
way she was shouting at me in front of my classmates. I said to her dont raise
your voice, and dont think that you are super hero when you are shouting at me in
front of my classmates. Every one in the class started laughing. She said that Im
going to be suspended from the school, and she didnt stop shouting. I ignored her
and went back to my table. I didnt care about what she was saying or if I would

get a suspension from the school. All what I was thinking about is my friends eye.
Tariq didnt like to see his cousin bleeding without doing any thing.
Suddenly, the second problem begins when Tariq started crying, saying bad
words, and bunching me on my face. The fight begins. I wrestled Tariq to the
ground, and I kicked him on his face. My brother was there and he joined the
fight. The teachers were there and they stopped the fight. I saw Tariq was bleeding
from his mouth, his cloths were full of blood, and he was crying. He was saying
my teeth. Then every one recognizes that Tariqs tooth was broken. I looked
down, I saw Tariqs tooth on the floor and I saw that my foot was bleeding. We
went to the school nurse. When the nurse knew that Tariqs tooth was broken she
kept his broken tooth in a cup of milk, so the color of his teeth wont change and
can be replaced. At the beginning I didnt feel any thing on my foot, but after five
minutes I started feeling some pain. Tariqs father came to school, and he took me,
Ahmed and Tariq to the hospital.
Tariqs father said that Yusuf entered the operation room before 15 minutes.
We didnt talk everyone was silent. Many thoughts came to my mind. I was
worried about what is going to happen, and I felt guilty. We have arrived to the
hospital Tariq and his father went to the dental section. My brother and I were
searching for a place to sterilize the injury on my foot. There was a doctor looking
at us and he said: Do you need help?
I said: Yes please, where I should go to sterilize the wound on my foot
He saw my foot then he said: Follow me

He took us to the emergency section, and he Sterilize the wound.

Then he said: Are you twins
My brother said: Yes
The doctor said: Whats your names?
My brother said: Ahmed and Hamdan
The doctor said: Im Yusufs father, and Yusuf is fine. The pupil was not
damaged and there are some wounds on his face. I think that the doctor know us
from the beginning.
I said: Thanks god, I am really sorry. I didnt mean to hit Yusuf on his
glasses. I was happy when I knew that the glass didnt damage Yusufs pupil
because he is my best friend, and I dont want anything to harm him.
Yusufs father took us to the eye department. I saw the school director,
Yusuf with a covered eye, and my father. My father called me, and he said go and
apologizes from Yusuf and his father. I apologized from Yusuf and his father.
Yusuf said that he know that I didnt mean it. After a while Tariq and his father
came. As usual Yusuf started laughing when he saw Tariqs cloth were full of
blood. Then I saw the school director talking to my father, Tariqs father, and
Yusufs father.
Yusuf got a medical vacation for two days. Ahmed, Tariq, and I got a
suspension from the school for two days. I didnt worry about being suspended
from the school because it wasnt the first time. We were happy because we will

get two days off, but sadly the school director said that tomorrow and after
tomorrow is a weekend, so the suspensions and the medical vacation are useless.
Finally, I learned from this lesson that I should think wisely and think about
the risk of doing any thing. The school prevented anyone to bring a water bottle to
school, and they started selling water in plastic covered cups. I also learned that if
you stay for along time without sleeping you would get a headache, and you
would start acting frivolously. Ahmed, Tariq, Yusuf, and I returned to be friends as
before. It was the last time I didnt sleep for two days.
