We regret to inform you that your manuscript, Charted Territory, was not selected for further
development and publication by New Quill Press.
Your story provides readers with likeable, multiethnic characters, a captivating story, and
tactfully applied suspense. However, New Quill Press is interested primarily in work from
minority authors and stories that celebrate diversity through multiethnic characters, or
characters who have faced adversity as a result of being marginalized in society. Were
looking for an author, characters, and story that readers can relate to and connect with, and
unfortunately we do not feel that Charted Territory fulfills the specific requirements of our
house mission. Furthermore, Charted Territory is not set in the Northeast, and therefore does
not follow our submission guidelines.
For these reasons, we feel that Charted Territory is not representative of New Quill Press and
would not be the best fit for our list. We encourage you to get in touch with other publishers,
who would be a better fit for your work. We wish you continued success in your endeavors
and hope to see your name on the shelves in coming years.
