My big ideas from the readings: Much of the presentation was an elongated version of the article. I
learned a lot of the same ideas that I wrote above. Basically, I learned different symptoms and origins of
the disorder. I also learned that depending on where the injury occurs, the outcome will be different. For
example, a frontal lobe injury versus an occipital lobe injury. One has to do with vision, the other has to do
with language.
My big ideas from the group presentation: A blow to the head can cause difficulties in many parts of
language and sensory receptors. This happens because the brain has so many connections that lead to
other parts. So, when one part is damaged, other parts of the brain dont receive the information they are
supposed to.

Reflection (What does this mean for my practice?): I must be patient with these clients. Everything is
backwards for them and their motor planning system does not work like mine would. I will have to find
different ways to communicate with them and realize that the way I learn something or do something will
not be easy or the same for them.
