William Carr is the former president of the Indiana chapter of the Hemlock Society. He
provides supportive information by the Economist magazine and the New England Journal of
Medicine. The source used is a Periodical Bibliography and he quotes from periodicals that he
once stated in interviews prior. This periodical was very biased because it was based only on the
authors opinion instead of various points of views that have to do with being for euthanasia
legalization.

Keown, John. Euthanasia, Ethics and Public Policy: An Argument Against Legalisation.
Cambridge: University Press, 2002.
The author John Keown at Cambridge, uses data from Reviews such as the General
Medical Council News Review. He uses supportive research from people who have gone through
the process of being euthanized. Mr. Keown uses supportive information from books and
newspapers. His supporting side is being against legalization. In my opinion, this book was very

beneficial to the creation of my argumentative essay. Statistical facts, were used as well as
supporting facts from other scholarly sources.
Vernacchio, Louis. "Physician-Assisted Death Should Not Be Legalized." Death & Dying:
Opposing Viewpoints Series. Ed. Bruno Leone, et al. San Diego: David L. Bender, 1998.
80-86. 4 11 2015.
The author, Louis Vernacchio states his opinion about Euthanasia by his own point of
view. To state his work, he quotes from his book Physician-Assisted Suicide: Reflections of a
Young Doctor. To support his opinion, he explains the four conditions that must be met under
the principle of the double effect. I would say this book is a good book for other research papers
to back up their supporting thesis. On the other hand, the book itself was not the best since it did
not have supporting facts by other scholars. The point of view that was supported here was to
legalize euthanasia.
