Dear Parents,

Our next Unit of Inquiry is

titled, How We Express
Ourselves.

As part of our unit, How We

Express Ourselves, we will have a
grade-wide Dress Using Your
Imagination Day" on Dec. 10th. On
this day, students will not have any
direction for what they wear, we
simply want to see what students
can come up with using their
imagination! This is a non-uniform
day!

The Central Idea for this unit is:

Imagination is a tool for extending our ability to think, create and express
ourselves.
During this unit students will inquire into how they can:
Imagination as a form of expression.
The process of developing our own creative ideas.
Reflecting on and extending the thoughts and ideas of others using
imagination.
Students will be provided the opportunity to:

Work individually and collaboratively to express themselves in a variety of ways through

creative writing, dramatics, projects, and open-ended tasks.

Explore the different ways others use their imagination to help them express

themselves.
Use their imagination to help
to solve familiar and unfamiliar
curriculum and in real life

Questions to inspire
imagination:
1. What would you
change about?
2. If you were them,
what would you
do?
3. What is the
problem in this
situation?
a. How might we
solve the
problem?
4. What gave you that
idea? (or What
inspired that idea?)

them generate ideas

problems across the
situations.
