October 20, 2015 o Whomever it May Concern: The purpose of this letter is to provide a recommendation for Whitney Bouquet as she pursues her first experience as a Registered Nurse. First off, | would like to say that | have been a registered RN for the last 9 years and have mentored and oriented many students and new grads throughout my career. | am currently a staff nurse and the new hire and new grad clinical educator for my current unit. | had the pleasure of mentoring Whitney this Fall during her senior preceptorship through the University of Arizona. | was impressed with Whitney throughout the entire time | worked with her. Whitney stood out the most from most students because of her personality and her natural ability to connect with patients. She also impressed me with her nursing knowledge as she demonstrated safe and effective care when | assigned her to take care of complex and high acuity patients. She was confident, never intimidated to ask questions and demonstrated excellent communication skills. The way she communicated with patients, coworkers and even physicians were way above her years. Whitney has all the characteristics needed to be an excellent nurse. | have had the opportunity to work with and mentor many nurses and students and | believe | am 2 pretty good judge of natural talent. There is no doubt in my mind that Whitney has all the abilities to be a very successful Emergency Room or Critical Care nurse, as those are the fields she has expressed the most interest in. One of the things that stood out to me most about Whitney is her genuinely caring nature with patients and with others in general. Whitney listens well because she truly cares about what others are saying and she takes the time to get to know others. This characteristic seems to be less and less common in most students these days. Whitney's caring personality and her desire to help others will be obvious to both her patients and those she works with. Whitney's patients will be fortunate to have her as their nurse. The other part of being an effective employee is being able to be a team player and work well with others. Again, Whitney's caring nature makes her an excellent teammate. She was always the first to volunteer to help others and she has a contagious energy and enthusiasm that others feed off of. Whitney makes those around her feel better and enjoy what they are doing and will be a welcome addition to whatever team she joins. Ifyou have any questions or would like to talk to me directly about Whitney's abilities, please don’t hesitate to call me at (520)891-8629, sincerely on hee Erick Loveres RN,BSN °
