Practice

1. Students use a map to practice giving

directions. They first write the directions on p. 78,
then verbally give the directions to a partner. The
partner listens and follows the directions with
his/her finger.
2. Students listen to audio of a person giving
directions. They use the map on p. 79 to follow
along. At the end of each description, students
write the name of the place they ended on a piece
of paper, then share with the class.
3. Student work in partners. Each pair is given a
set of directions which students have to follow.
The directions take each group to a different
location on campus. Once students have found
their destination, they will collect the token that
has previously been placed there and come back
to class.
