Attention Parents and Guardians:
Our names are Nadine Nahas and Jenna Minor, and we are student
teachers from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Education. We are
working under Mr. Noel Taylor, the Drama teacher and Improv coach.
As part of our practicum term, we are going to be hosting an
Improvisation Night at the school for our school project.
As you may be aware, your child is a member of the McKernan Improv
Team. As a member of the team, your child will be participating in as
many Improv tournaments as possible throughout the year. We are
hosting this Improvisation Night in order to raise money for the Improv
team so that they are able to go to tournaments, perform, and
showcase their talent in front of an audience.
The Improvisation Night will take place on Wednesday, December 12,
in the evening after school from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Drama
room. There will be two performances. The first performance will be
held from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm, followed by a fifteen-minute
intermission. The second performance will resume after the
intermission, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be an entrance
charge, as this is a fundraiser and we are trying to raise money for the
team. The charge will be $2 for students, and adults will be asked to
pay what they can. During the intermission, we will be selling candies,
baked goods, and soda pop.
For the performance date, your child will need to be at the school for
4:30 pm in order to prepare for their performances. We have also
attached Wednesday evenings schedule to this letter for your
reference.
Once the Improvisation Night has come to a close, your child will stay
go home with you at the end of the night, or stay with us in the school
until you are able to pick them up.
We hope that this letter gives you enough notice for the Improvisation
Night and that you are able to come and watch your childs amazing

Improvisation Night Schedule
Wednesday, December 12th, 2012
4:30 pm Student call time. This is the time that your child is
expected to be at the
school.
5:00 pm Final preparations for the evening performances. You child
will warm
up during this time.
5:15 pm Final ticket sales. Extra tickets for the night will be sold at
the door. At
this time, you and the rest of the audience will enter into the
classroom and find your seat.
5:30 pm Performance 1.
6:15 pm Intermission. During this time you will able to talk to your
child, mingle
with other parents, and buy any food or drinks at the
concession.
6:30 pm Performance 2.
7:00 pm End of the Improvisation Night.
