The Accident
The young child was sitting in the back row behind his parents, he was an elementary
student. it had been almost two hours since his parents and himself had left their house, he was
bored out of his mind as he listened to the talking of his parents and the sound of the air
conditioner blowing out cold air. He couldnt stand the boredom and decided to look out through
the glass pane to his right and watch as the scenery of houses and buildings whoosh by to
alleviate his boredom. The boy turned his head forward to where he could see his parents
multitasking and arguing, his annoyed father was taking a business call as he held one hand on
the wheel. He spoke in an irritated tone while trying to listen to his wifes horrible directions
from a large map of the area. They were heading off somewhere since today was a school
holiday, meaning that there was no school for every single student. Thomas wished he could
listen to the radio and listen to some music to entertain himself, he looks through the glass pane
in front of his parents and could see a glaring and bring red light flash a few feet away. He had
begun to tell his parents about the light when they simply shushed him and went back to argue
about which path to take to reach their destination. He sat there silently while watching and
waiting for the effect of him not being able to tell his busy parents, as they got closer and closer
to the light time seemed to move slower as a boy with a backpack started walking out in front of
them. Thomas wanted to scream and shout for his parents to stop fighting and listen, but it was

too late as there was no way that they could stop in time to avoid hitting the boy with the
backpack.
