Slovak, K., & Singer, J. B. (2011). School Social Workers' perceptions of cyberbullying.

Children & Schools, 33(1), 5-16.

Cyber bullying not only causes psychological harm/suicide but also worsens the
victims self esteem, the unwillingness to interact with others and above all deep
depression.
This is relevant to my topic in the sense that it is not at all to be considered
harmless and just playful fun.

Hummell, L. J. (2007). Cyber-bullying: What it is and how to prevent it. Delta Kappa Gamma
Bulletin, 73(3), 26-27.
Some of the most effective ways to prevent cyber bullying is to teach students on how to
avoid social inappropriate behavior, show them the consequences of such said behavior
and finally how to act and report any activity of said behavior. This is relevant because
everybody knows that you can get the help you deserve if you just learn to speak out and
stop being afraid.
Carter, J. M., & Wilson, F. L. (2015). Cyberbullying: A 21st century health care phenomenon.
Pediatric Nursing, 41(3), 115-125.
In a study conducted out of 367 adolescents from the age ranging of 10 to 18 years of
age,30% of them resulted in being bullied in school , while 17% ended up victims of
cyber bullying. This shows relevancy in the sense that it is not just one school or small
town , but that it is a nationwide epidemic.
Cloud, J. (2010). Bullied To Death?. Time, 176(16), 60-63.
On September 22 a freshmen at Rutgers Tyler Clementi committed suicide off of
George Washington Bridge in New York City . The reason? His roommate
secretly recorded Clementi kissing another guy and the video went viral. This
show how it is relevant in my topic in discussing how cyberbullying has claimed
one of many lives and does not seem to slow down at any time.
