presentation or use of a computer with voice synthesizer
*+ Ask the entire class to provide cues if they wish to speak, For the speech-
impaired student, allow opportunities for them to engage including use of a
computer with a voice synthesizer, if needed.
* Permit time for the student to speak as well as encourage patience,
* The counselor should address student naturally without an assumption that they
cannot hear or comprehend, They should, however, be explicit with all directions
and ask for cues if they need clarification as well as check in for comprehension,

§Your FIRST homework assignment—: assesiacate
Using Naviance or the Collegeboard, do a search online and send to our email
address 5 schools that might be interesting to you and the reason WHY for at
least one of those schools. An example might be:
1. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
2. Northwestern University
3. University of Wisconsin- Madison
4, Kalamazoo College
5, Miami University- Oxford, Ohio
‘These schools all came up on my search because I am hoping to go to college
in the Midwest but I am not sure if wanta big school or a smaller one. All of
these schools offer Secondary Education (HS teaching as a major), which is,
very important to me. Kalamazoo College has one of the best study abroad
programs in the country, and I learned that most students go abroad their
entire junior year, which really interests me.
Please email your answer to beacontrailblazers@gmail.com or complete it in
