Portfolio Artifact Description: Classroom Using drawing tools to create a traditional
classroom style.
What you learned: Educators creativity is not only based on curriculum but also an
appropriate learning environment classroom. Teachers should arrange classroom to benefit
students the most. At any given time, students need to be able to focus on curriculum; hence, a
classroom layout helps students to grasp the knowledge during the lessons. A classroom
arrangement should be flexible for all situations and should be able to change based on students
needs. I choose a traditional classroom style which is all desks face a whiteboard/ projector area
and a teachers desk. This layout created as a teacher centered, and it encourages students focus
on a teacher.
National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS)T Addressed: Classroom
project implies to standard 5 of the ISTE National Education Technology Standards (NETST).
According to https://www.kent.edu/sites/default/files/file/ISTEstandards.pdf, by practicing
classroom project, educators will continuously improve their professional practice in their
school. Also, teachers are able to evaluate and reflect on a regular basis in support of student
learning once the style of classroom is being use. If students are not benefit from a traditional
classroom style, teachers need to create a new style immediately.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: This project is important for future educators to
create a classroom layout and to think how to keep a classroom motivated in order to encourage
students in different circumstances. Educators have to keep in mind that the way they arrange
desks in a room is not only benefit them to control a classroom but also create a friendly
classroom environment. Since students can be easily distracted by surrounding environment, I
think this layout will benefit all participations in a classroom the most. Although traditional
classroom allows students to have a view toward the front of the room, it can be hard for teacher
to separate students and their focus will drop off when small group project is given.
