Dear Mr. Williams:
Thank you for taking the time to look at my application materials for the Engineer Development
Program position that is listed on North Dakota State Universitys careerlink website. The fact that
Polaris has seven U.S. locations combined with six international locations goes to show that this
company designs, fabricates, and produces for thousands of customers all across the world that share
that same hobby. These multiple locations also give me a unique advantage in that it provides me the
flexibility needed for military personnel. With that I am able to gain more knowledge and experience
with Polaris and be of more value to the company.
The knowledge gained and lessons learned between the mechanical engineering and reserve officer
train corps programs have combined together to create the characteristics desired for this job. I have
the ability to work closely with others as a team in order to integrate product designs for
manufacturability, reliability, serviceability while providing optimal customer centric products. The
college of engineering has taught me innovation, problem solving while the military has taught me how
to have integrity, a passion for excellence and most importantly, how to be a leader. Throughout the
engineering program I have gone over countless problems and examples in numerous classes. The
biggest lesson that I have taken away from the program is that you cannot learn how to do each and
every problem. What the instructors have taught me is how to apply a basic problem solving procedure
and where to find information that is necessary to solve real world problems.
Knowledge is nothing without communication. School projects along with training to be an officer has
taught me this. I have worked with students of all ages along with international students while
deployed in Thailand. Not only was my team facing a barrier in age difference but also a more difficult
language barrier. Those language barriers forced me to find new and more efficient ways of
communicating.
Thank you for your consideration and feel free to contact me at 612-990-4651 or kyle.bogart@ndsu.edu
to discuss my credentials more thoroughly.
Sincerely,

Kyle Bogart
