Research components of effective instruction

The first article I read was a university based article. The

method of instruction was quite simple. The teacher would teach
her lesson then ask for feedback from the students. The students
would then write down what they do like, and what they do not.
By doing this the teacher can take in consideration what she is
doing well, and what she might have to improve on. The teacher
could also learn how his or her students learn.
The second article I read was a scholarly journal, by Joseph
Blase and Jo Blase. The method used to better the students was
not an instruction method as much as it was a trust, and
comfortability builder. Rather than jumping straight into teaching,
this idea was to build a friendship with the students, and get each
student to be comfortable in the classroom. By doing this the
teachers believed the students were more engaged, and learned
much more.
The third article I read was C. Bowells theory of active
learning. Active learning is a model of instruction that focuses the
responsibility of learning on learners. Instead of putting the
responsibility of the teachers to teach it is rather the
responsibility of the students to get their education.
