Crowding: A Marker of Hospital Health: 75. Web. 15 Oct. 2015.
Crowding, delays, and diversions have increased to extreme proportions, mainly because
of federal mandate have to provide care to any patients requesting treatment. This causes many
consequences for many people who are being affected by this federal mandate. So for those who
are uninsured are most likely to go to an ER and are more likely to be sicker than those who are
insured. Places with an uninsured population with low income are likely to encounter more visits
cover by Medicare or the State Children's Health Insurance Program. People with mental illness
constitute another segment of the population seeking care in Emergency Rooms.
