Memorandum of Understanding UTC School of Education Teacher Candidate Field Experience Agreement [All students are expected to follow all policies and procedures of the School of Education program as outlined by the field experience manual and UTC’s Code of Conduct. ‘Therefore, prior to beginning a field placement, students are expected to sign the following statement indicating their understanding and agreement to adhere to these policies and ethical standards. Failure to follow these may result in disciplinary action. ‘Asa student enrolled in a course requiring field experience, I agree to the following: 1. Lagree that a suecessfal background check must be on file in the School of Education office, and it is my responsibility to ensure the office has record of it. 2. Tunderstand that I cannot begin any field experience without completing the background check successfully first 3. Tunderstand that I cannot begin any field experience without obtaining liability insurance ‘and providing documentation of that purchase to the School of Education office. 4. Tagree to act professionally and ethically. This.includes, but is not limited to, adhering to the UTC Code of Conduct, maintaining confidentiality, and giving priority to the rights and needs of students over my own. 5, Tunderstand I am responsible for reading and understanding the field experience policies and procedures. Prior to entering the field experience, I will review the contents of the Field Experience Manual, with special emphasis on the policies and procedures listed for the Hamilton County field placements. 6. Lagree to dress professionally. This includes following dress code procedures as discussed in the Field Experience Manual. 7. Tunderstand that it is my responsibility to maintain accurate records of my field ‘experiences on the field experience time sheet. 8. Tunderstand that it is my responsibility to request the field experience supervisor complete the final evaluation. I will request that this evaluation be completed at a ‘convenient time for my field experience supervisor and not at the last minute. 9. Lagree to abstain from communicating any negative or defamatory comments about the school or community organization in which I complete my field experience. 10, Lagree to abstain from taking any photos or videos with the students with whom Tam working. 11, Lagree to show respect for all members of the school or organization.
