Professional Goals for Practicum

GOAL 1: Build relationships with students

Strategies:
- Share personal passions and hobbies
- Relate to students interests and hobbies
- Always respect students and treat them in a caring way, even when reinforcing
behaviour
GOAL 2: Develop connections with TA, administrators, and other staff
Strategies:

Make introduction to secretary and other administration staff

Give letter of introduction to both my TA and the secretary/principal
Be open and accepting of comments and ideas for improvement
Be organized and have open communication with TA about lessons and experiences
Ask questions

GOAL 3: Incorporate technology into lessons when applicable and when it enhances
student learning.
Strategies:
- Take advantage of resources that I have been given access to through University
o Alberta education
o Curriculum lab and curriculum lab web database
o Smart exchange
- Refer to website we created as a class to find appropriate resources
o Kahoot
o Go noodle
o Padlet
o Etc.
- Be sure to ensure that technology enhances learning, do not use it just to use it.
Indicators of Success
- Students will be excited for my lessons
- Students will want to share things about themselves with me and will want to spend
time with me/ask me to play with them on the playground/free time, etc.
- Staff will know my name and greet me
- I will feel comfortable trying new things/asking questions with my TA
